These 4 apps for the iPad are great resources for students with dyslexia:
(Free built-in features on the iPad.) These features allow users to hear a spoken description of what's on the screen, hear text from websites, email, or e-readers read aloud. (Free.) Dragon Dictate allows you to dictate emails, facebook updates, or notes. Dragon Go allows you to search google, wikipedia or other search engines by saying your query term instead of typing it.
American Wordspeller & Phonetic Dictionary
($4.99.) This app allows users to type in the first several letters of a word phonetically and the dictionary will offer words that match your search. For example, typing in medal will also bring up the words metal, meddle, or mettle. An internet connection is not required so you can use the app whenever and wherever you need it.
(Free.) This app helps students to remember homework, due dates, tests or quizzes and syncs up with computers at school and at home so students have access to their homework no matter where they are.
