Brand Ambassador (Remote)

Our purpose is to empower students, parents, and education seekers into making more informed decisions about their education. Noodle provides expert advice on everything from PK-12 to college and grad school.

We want students who are highly active on their college campus and on social networks. Students who might have great ideas for spreading the word about Noodle on their campus. We look for leaders - the people known for making things happen.

We are a growing company and would love to have you on board!

Responsibilities include:

  • Taking and uploading pictures of buildings on campus
  • Writing descriptions for the pictures pictures
  • Answering assigned questions to post on your college's Noodle profile
  • Publish written content about your college on the Noodle website

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate must be a current undergraduate or graduate student with connections across campus (athletic, social, and academic scenes). Your work with Noodle will be completed remotely. 

What we need:

  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has some photography skills
  • Must be energetic, outgoing, creative and organized with outstanding verbal, written, and communication skills

Community Editor
Location: New York, NYDepartment: Marketing
Type: Full TimeMin. Experience: Mid Level

As the community editor, your job will be to support the editorial team and help promote its voice. You will seed, guide, and manage the online community of Noodle users, commenters, and experts. The ideal candidate will be able to spot community trends and turn those into story ideas and articles for the site and be able to handle online conflict calmly and productively.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience writing and/or editing online
  • 2+ years experience managing or working with online communities
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of and passion for the education space
  • Familiarity with CMS and HTML a plus
  • Extremely well-organized
  • Experience with HTML/Markdown a plus
  • Ability to work quickly and on deadline
  • Active online social presence a must

Data Science Summer Internship

Data science is about leveraging statistics, visualization, industry savvy, and computation to make better sense of the world.  At Noodle, we use these disciplines for everything from ranking schools, to estimating uncertainty, to categorizing content, to generally communicating quantitative information clearly to parents, students, and other educational stake-holders to help them make better decisions.

Requirements:

  • Current undergrad
  • Major in or strong demonstration of interest in quantitative social sciences, applied math, or computer science
  • An eye for or abiding interest in the education industry, computation, data analysis and visualization
  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to identify and solve novel problems and analytical puzzles
  • Willingness to explore and master the use of new tools

Responsibilities:

  • Surveying, extracting, cleaning and structuring of diverse datasets
  • Summary and diagnostic statistics evaluating data sources
  • Graphical representations of datasets and relationships between datasets
  • Programming in Python and R; using Github for version control
  • Continually exploring new projects and methods to model and present data to end users.

As the managing editor, your job will be to support the editorial team and help craft its voice. You will be responsible managing the publication schedule as well as writing and editing. Marketing Internship
Location: New York, NY
Type: Temporary to Full TimeMin. Experience: Student (College)

Brief Description:

We are looking for a couple of great, ambitious interns to work in our marketing department at Noodle. Ideally you are a college senior, recent college graduate, or graduate student willing to commit up to 40 hours a week and who has future plans of working in marketing or communications. Candidates must have a desire to work at a high-growth, fast paced start-up and enjoy speaking to new people. Our offices are on the west side of Manhattan in Chelsea Piers.  

Responsibilities:

Calling: You will be on the phone a lot and should have excellent phone/verbal skills, enjoy talking to new people and explain who Noodle is, what we do, how we can help, and answer questions.

Research, research, research: You'll build conference lists and profiles which includes, researching organizations, dates, conference details, contact information, pricing, target audiences,speaker/sponsorship/exhibitor information. In addition, you will be filling out registration/order forms, creating marketing/promotional material, packing and shipping conference material, and handling logistics. You should love (or not be bored by) researching the internet.

Comfortable being an intern: there will be some traditional intern work. So you shouldn't be afraid to roll up your sleeves when it comes time to help keep the team organized and coordinated.

Reporting & data entry: you'll be asked to work in Excel/Google Docs or Salesforce to enter information, compile reports, and maintain databases for sharing internally.

Build brand awareness: help our provider engagement marketing team solidify a process to help increase colleges interest in Noodle.

Monitor the news cycle and keep the team up to date on trends in education

 

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (you’ll spend a lot of time cold calling)

Enjoys meeting/talking to new people

Possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, interest in learning and the education industry

Detail-oriented

Proficient in finding things (and researching) on the internet

Outstanding time management and organizational skills

Prior internship experience in marketing/communications is preferred but not a limiting factor

Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus but not required

Can commit up to 40 hours per week in the office

Authorized to work in the United States

 

Compensation:

The hourly rate will depend on your level of skill and prior experience.
